Domains for sale

How these domains are priced

A domain with no site on it has no trading history, so it has no multiple. It is priced on what the traffic it can attract is worth, which comes down to three things: how often the full name is searched as a phrase, what advertisers pay per click for it, and how scarce the name itself is.

Every listing shows those figures for the whole name, measured for the UK, and says plainly when there is no measurable search volume. A name that only contains a popular phrase is not an exact match for it, so that bigger phrase never appears as the headline figure; where it is worth knowing, the listing page names it separately and labels it as not an exact match.

The domains fall into three categories. Short names have five characters or fewer before the extension, including every two and three letter name, and are priced on scarcity. High CPC names are ones where advertisers pay at least £5 a click for the full name, with real monthly searches behind it. Brandable covers everything else: names chosen for how they sound and what they could become. A name matching a phrase worth £40 a click is worth more than one matching a phrase worth 30p, at identical search volume, because the traffic converts into more valuable enquiries.

Where a domain carries inherited backlinks we say so, and where that backlink profile is low quality we say that too. Several of these names have large referring domain counts built by previous owners through link schemes. Those links carry no value and we have not priced them in.
